Chapter 1
Introduction
A.
Background
of the story
Popular mysteries
have been made a long time ago still; some of them are still alive today. For instance, the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 lingered on the myth of The Bermuda triangle.
In an article entitled "Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Is there a Bermuda Triangle Connection?" by Benjamin Radford of livescience.com said that a lot of theories have been said by the people who try to decode the disappearance of the of the plane. Cases like hi-jack of suicide intention by the pilot have been considered but the possibility of connection with the Bermuda Triangle is one of the explanation people believe now because there are no seen debris of the plane and no proof lingered to find the location on where the plane actually is.
He also stated that, "Others suggest that the Malaysia Airlines plane disappeared over a patch of ocean that is on the exact opposite part of the globe from the Bermuda Triangle — isn't that a bizarre coincidence? t may seem very mysterious and spooky, until you consult a map or globe and notice the search area is roughly on the opposite side of the world not of the Bermuda Triangle (which is in the North Atlantic), but instead the Caribbean Sea. Skewed geography aside, the truth is, no one knows where the plane disappeared. It might have gone down in the South China Sea — or it might have disappeared off the west coast of Malaysia, or somewhere else. In fact, searchers suspect the plane might not have gone down over ocean at all, but instead in the mountainous jungles of Vietnam, where teams have been dispatched. Since the plane may have been turning shortly after its last radar appearance, the search area is vast." (http://www.livescience.com/44058-malaysia-airlines-bermuda-triangle.html).
A lot of people consider mysteries as a part of their life. Some even risk their lives in finding solutions or proof regarding a specific mystery. Despite the time barriers, these stories remain popular on every generation. For example, the myth behind the existence of Big Foot is still widely debated in the western part of the world.

Most
mysteries involve science fictional characteristics. A lot of mysteries have
been off springs of literature. Literature played (and still play) a big role
in making every mystery a success. Due to this, most mysteries have that
scientific flavor every writer wants people to read. This science fictional
characteristic will soon lead into a pleasing flavor of mystery. Sooner or
later, a lot of people will begin to question if they are real or not. So, a
lot of scientists will try to find the answers in each of these enigmas.
Numerous scientists
believe that all enigmas have solutions. As a matter of fact, they all look at
the mysteries in a scientific way. Some of the influential mysteries have
already been proved as time goes by. For example, according to an article entitled "The truth about Bermuda Triangle" by Emily Upton of gizmodo.com, the mystery behind the
disappearances in Bermuda Triangle has been explained to be related on its
unusual magnetic property. She said that "It turns out that magnetic variation is something ship contains have known about and had to deal with pretty ,such as long as there have been ships and compasses" (http://gizmodo.com/the-truth-about-the-bermuda-triangle-1507231040). But even if the proofs are given, the people still
consider this story as one of the mysteries in our world.
It is for these reasons that this study is conducted. The researcher would like to discover why people insist on concerning themselves with myths & stories they know are not real.
The purpose of this paper is to explain why people who don't believe in mysteries still study about them anyway.
Instead of finding
out about the reasons behind all the enigmas in the world, this paper will
explain the different reasons why people are fond of mysteries.
B.
Statement
of the problem
This study aims to answer this
question:
1.
What
are the reasons why people are fond of mysteries?
C.
Significance
of the study
Students
with courses related to philosophy and psychology. This research paper will help
the students understand the reasons behind people addiction to mysteries. The
reason why I included them is because the researcher believes that people who study
mysteries act differently from others. Some psychology and philosophy students
actually study mysteries also.
Teachers
and professors of History and science.
I will be including some famous mysteries in this paper and how some of them
are scientifically explained. Some teachers can gain some knowledge regarding
these. This paper also includes reasons why people, from generation to another,
believe in enigmas.
Mystery
addicts. This
study will make them know why they still study mysteries even if they don’t
actually believe in it. Some mystery geeks never know why they are so obsessed
with the concept of mystery. This paper may give these people knowledge about
it.
Future Researchers. Researchers who are aiming to know and answer why people have been addicted to mysteries will be benefiting in this paper in terms of information gathered and given. This study will be emphasizing the reasons why the non-believers still study about the enigmas in the world.

D.
Scope
and Limitations
This study focuses on
the reasons why people are fond of mysteries. Some mysteries will be included
in this paper since we will need them for the study.
Due to some
circumstances, this paper will no longer discuss about science and history of
each mysteries. This paper will be focusing more on the influence of these
mysteries to some people and why do they still study them even if they believe
it to be a hoax.
E. Materials and Methods
E. Materials and Methods
E. Materials and Methods
This paper will be using more of
the internet sources such as blogs, statistical views and researches. Blogs
related to mysteries will be used for proof and researches regarding believers
and researchers about enigmas will be widely accepted. Blogs regarding why
people believes, accept and studies about mysteries will be used all through
out the study.
Information, data and proofs will
be analyzed according to its use, significance, importance and conviction. Data
analyzed will be filtered depending on their substances and importance for the
study. Unreliable sources will not be classified. Moreover, data without
reliable sources will not be included because the researcher aims for a right
answer regarding the question on why people still study mysteries despite not
believing in it.
